Blanca Keller Rodriguez

Originally from Madrid, Blanca studied International business both in (ICADE) Spain and (NEOMA) France, where she majored in Finance. After graduation, she joined Deloitte focusing on insolvency and refinancing proceedings.

Prior to Marshall, Blanca worked as a Project Manager at Alliance Cinema - famous for My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Dog Whisperer - where she focused on strategy development and investment evaluation.

Having worked in the Financial Advisory industry and the Entertaiment one, Blanca is doing her MBA with the objective of doubling down on the pivot into Film and TV where she would like to focus on project development, greenlighting and strategy.

James Ruggiero

Originally from Chicago, James completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a double major in Film & TV and Political Science. Prior to Marshall, James worked as a Director of Development for Co-Lab 21, a Disney TV production company. Having worked on the creative side of both established media companies and nimble production start-ups, James is interested in exploring the strategic and analytical moves guiding today's data-driven entertainment industry.

Jonathan Friedman

EVP, External Relations & Resources

Jonathan Friedman is a born-and-raised Angeleno and a lifelong media nerd. While studying Media and Cultural Change at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, he worked in various capacities in the media world, including at The Verge (Vox Media’s technology publication), The White House’s digital strategy office, Fox Broadcasting Company, Creative Artists Agency. Post-grad, he worked as an assistant in CAA’s New York office before returning home to Los Angeles to assist the President and Chief Operating Officer of Bad Robot. During his time at Bad Robot, the company fundraised for and launched a video game subsidiary, partnered with Capitol Records to launch a music label, and entered into a new, wide-ranging corporate partnership with WarnerMedia.

Before coming to USC Marshall, he worked as a freelance media strategist, helping creatives consider ways to expand their businesses and helping companies, including new journalism startup Semafor, develop strategies around IP usage and distribution. Additionally, he has dabbled in theatre, independently producing stage plays during the summers of 2022 and 2023.

Jonathan came to Marshall with the hopes of gaining more concrete business and financial experience and is looking to return to media and entertainment post-grad, with a focus on strategy and entrepreneurship.

David Iwanowski

EVP, Membership

David came to USC Marshall looking to pivot from a career in sports analytics and data science to strategic decision-making in other areas of the Entertainment Industry. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 2017 and spent 6 years in the NBA- first at the league office and then 3 seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks (first year was the magical 2021 season!).

Long obsessed with storytelling through various mediums, David has built a strong passion for theme parks, movies, music, and anything else that creates lasting experiences and stories. Unsure of where specifically the future will take him, he is excited for the chance to apply his skills to help the broader strategy of a large entertainment company, and is specifically passionate about working on content and experiences. This summer, David will be interning in Content Planning and Analysis at Disney, helping provide analysis and strategy help for the people making and distributing film and TV. In the meantime, you can find him doing a variety of nerd stuff, from designing themed experiences to stat research on movie stars and everything in between!

Mayada Audeh

VP of Recruiting & Case Competitions

Mayada was born and raised in Washington, DC before attending Oberlin College where she studied Economics. While at Oberlin College, Mayada played on the Varsity Tennis Team and worked as a research assistant in the Economics department. Upon graduating, she worked as a Research Analyst for the Association for Financial Professionals, but after a few years want to pivot into entertainment and moved to LA to work at Universal Studios in the Creative Strategy & Research department. While at USC, Mayada has continued to pursue entertainment and hopes to pivot to a Strategy role after graduation. She has been an avid member of BEA and the Graduate Women in Business club. Beyond her professional life, Mayada loves to go to the beach, go to the movies, play tennis or pickle ball, and try new restaurants!

Katie Wah

VP of Recruiting & Case Competitions

Katie Wah is an MBA candidate and Forte Fellow from Los Angeles, CA. Before coming to USC, she got an undergrad degree in engineering and has experience working in financial services and entertainment. Her job most recently before coming to USC was at Disney+ where she worked on distribution. Aside from the tv/streaming industry, Katie is really interested in the the creator economy and promoting equitable monetization of creators. Outside of school, she loves going to the beach and trying new restaurants.

Jonathan Dennill

VP of Recruiting & Case Competitions

Jonathan Dennill is an MBA candidate pursuing a career in consulting and corporate strategy. Before Marshall, he worked on the creative agency side of the entertainment business as a Digital Producer focused on media campaigns for Disney, Netflix, NBCUniversal, Riot Games, and Starz. Originally from Wichita, KS, Jonathan earned his undergraduate degree in Electronic Media & Marketing from Wichita State University. He moved to Los Angeles in 2016 and started his career in physical production as a Coordinator and UPM (Unit Production Manager). Outside of the classroom, you can find Jonathan going for a run around Griffith Park, mountain biking in the Santa Monica mountains, or drinking copious amounts of coffee around campus.

Amos Burns

VP of Alumni Engagement & External Relations

Amos Burns is currently a Producer at AMGI Animation Studio and Founder of Fabletown Entertainment. He has worked in the entertainment industry for over a decade across Films, TV, Video Games, NFTs, and Live-Events. He began his career working on-set as a Lighting Technician, Camera Operator, 1st Assistant Director, and more. Eventually he produced his first feature, the indie horror film, Like Dogs, which was sold in over 30 countries. From there he became a Fellow at Moving Picture Institute, which led him to work at RPM Talent Agency, Propagate Content, and Producers Guild of America before being recruited to work for AMGI. He went on to produce AMGI’s My Pet Hooligan NFT collection and Video Game which landed partnerships with Amazon Gaming and Mad Engine Merchandising. Amos is attending the Marshall MSEI program to launch his own entertainment company that specializes in helping independent comic creators adapt their IP into transmedia properties. He’s passionate about networking, education, and making lots of money.

Aditya Naga Sai Chamarthi

VP of Alumni Engagement & External Relations

Aditya (Addy) is a Full-Time MBA student from the Class of 2025. He hails from the vibrant city of Hyderabad, India. With an engineering background and six years of experience in Human Capital Consulting at Deloitte, Addy has honed a unique skill set that blends analytical acumen with creative flair.

During his tenure at Deloitte, Addy played a pivotal role in helping Fortune 500 clients transform their HR systems, streamline processes, and enhance workforce efficiency, particularly during M&A integrations. But beyond the boardroom, Addy is passionate about merging his interests in films and TV shows with his consulting experience.

With an ultimate goal to establish his own production house, Addy envisions telling stories that highlight regional diversities and nuances across the globe. Outside of the professional sphere, he enjoys fusion cooking, acting, badminton, and cinema.

Kyle Glaser

VP of Sports

Kyle is a third-year MBA.PM student at USC Marshall. Prior to business school, Kyle spent 13 years working as a sports writer for the Associated Press, Orange County Register, Riverside Press-Enterprise and, most recently, Baseball America. He's written about the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB and NCAA football and basketball and has covered six World Series, three NCAA Tournaments, the NBA and NHL playoffs and an Olympics.

In addition to writing, Kyle appeared frequently as a guest expert and analyst on television and radio networks worldwide, including MLB Network (USA), the BBC (UK), NHK (Japan), Al-Jazeera (Qatar), Marquee Sports Network (Chicago), Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (Washington D.C.), CBS Sports Radio Network, MLB Network Radio and SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio Network. His work has been cited by ESPN, The Athletic, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, Denver Post and San Diego Union-Tribune, among other major media outlets.

Ashley Mascarenhas

VP of Music

Prior to my enrollment at USC, I became a first generation college student and graduate from Cal Poly Pomona, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Management and Human Resources in May 2023. Before my academic pursuits, I dedicated nine years to my career at Zumiez, an active sports retailer, where I was a senior store manager and ultimately served as the Leave of Absence and Worker's Compensation HR Coordinator. Driven by my passion for talent acquisition and personnel development, I am currently collaborating with four former undergraduate colleagues to establish an HR consulting business. Our mission is to assist organizations in cultivating robust cultures and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. In my personal time, I love to build kites, hang out with family and my dog, and DJ music for events including the USC Marshall mixers.

Gourav Bhattacharya

VP of Marketing & PR

Prior to joining the MBA program here at Marshall, Gourav worked in marketing for Conscious Capitalism, Inc. During his time, he predominantly focused on lead qualification and optimization. He completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of California, Irvine. At UCI, Gourav founded his own ethical fashion startup, Conshus Clothing. The brand was built around using sustainable materials while paying fairer wages to the lowest-tier workers in the fast-fashion industry. Conshus won 1st Place at the HEC Montréal, Social Business Creation (SBC) 2020 as well as at the 2020 UCI New Venture Competition: Social Enterprise Track.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Gourav enjoys photography. Up until founding Conshus Clothing, from the age of 13, Gourav used to write, direct, and produce short films and documentaries, winning several accolades in the process. Although not a bookworm, Gourav loves reading Fernando Pessoa and is currently rereading 'The Book of Disquiet.' Gourav loves to play cricket, tennis, and soccer (he genuinely believes Messi is God, but also supports Manchester United, so he is a little weird that way!).

Gourav aspires to eventually work in content strategy, combining his knack for storytelling with his professional experiences. His ultimate goal is to build a platform for creating meaningful narratives using visual media.

Outside of BEA, Gourav will support the Marshall community as the VP of Casing & Skill-Building for GMA, the VP of Marketing for the Adam Smith Society, the VP of Marketing for SABA, and the VP of Finance for the Marshall Soccer Club.

William Peisch

VP of Internal Relations

Will Peisch is an MBA candidate at USC Marshall, set to graduate in the class of 2025. Hailing from Greenwich, CT, Will earned his bachelor's degree in Government with a minor in Sociology from Dartmouth College. Before embarking on his MBA journey, he dedicated 6.5 years to BrainPOP, an educational media company based in NYC, where he honed his skills in customer success, developing a keen ability to foster impactful partnerships.

At USC Marshall, Will is deeply invested in bridging the gap between the MBA program and other entertainment-focused institutions on campus. As the Vice President of Internal Relations, he is committed to leveraging his background in collaboration and customer engagement to strengthen Marshall's ties to the other entertainment-focused institutions at USC. Additionally, Will co-chairs Marshall Gives Back and serves as the program manager for the Marshall Leadership Fellows program.

Shumin Jiang

VP of Career Development

Shumin Jiang, Sumi is an MBA candidate and Forté Fellow at USC Marshall. Originally from China, Sumi did an inter-disciplinary undergrad degree in Global Creative Industries and Finance from the University of Hong Kong. Prior to coming to business school, she explored a versatile career path navigating in entertainment and financial services sectors. After five years in Fintech and Banking, Sumi looks forward to leveraging her business acumen and financial expertise to pivot into a career in Content Strategy or Production Financing in the Film and Television industry. This summer, she will be interning at Mattel on the Corporate Development team. Outside of the classroom, Sumi is a two-time first-place winner of business case competitions.

James Snyder

VP of DEI & Community

James Snyder, an MBA candidate, grew up in the serene, snow-covered landscape of White Bear Lake, just a stone's throw from the iconic Lakeside Club featured in the Coen Brothers' 'Fargo.' With a profound admiration for the storytelling prowess of Spanish auteur Pedro Almodóvar, James holds 'All About My Mother' in high esteem as his top film choice. His affinity for academia and higher learning was kindled during visits to his grandparents home in Los Angeles, both academics and social justice activists, setting him on his path to USC.

Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, complemented by studies in Film, Television, and New Media, James embodies a blend of analytical rigor and creative flair. His professional journey at Mercer saw him leading key people strategies for firms like Disney, Wynn Resorts, and Cirque Du Soleil, adeptly navigating the intricacies of the entertainment ecosystem. His instrumental role in the launch of Wynn Encore Boston Harbor and strategic contributions to Cirque Du Soleil's acquisitions demonstrate his knack for high-stakes negotiation and foresight.

James's stint at Huron refined his media strategy skills, particularly evident in his pivotal data visualization work for NYC's COVID-19 response, enhancing public and strategic communications during a critical time. This, coupled with his successful sales efforts at KTCA-TV and his production of the compelling documentary short film 'Serenity,' showcased at the Chicago Art Institute, underscores his commitment to elevating diverse voices and stories within the media landscape.

Parviz Mansoori

Parviz is a part-time MBA student at USC Marshall, with a distinct focus on the convergence of the technology and gaming industries. With a solid foundation in Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Parviz has harnessed his analytical and leadership skills to excel in various product management roles. As a product manager, he has had the opportunity to spearhead customer service strategies for video game software developers through innovative automated support systems at both large software development companies and start-ups. Parviz’s passion for technology and gaming is matched by his commitment to leadership and community engagement within the USC Marshall ecosystem, where he actively contributes to several associations, blending his interests in tech, gaming, and entertainment.

Sam Hsu

VP of Conferences

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Sam is a professional filmmaker and photographer. He completed his undergraduate degree at National Taiwan University, with a major in Foreign Languages and Literatures. Prior to the MBA, Sam worked in a commercial film studio as an editor and later joined a crowdfunding marketing agency and led an in-house production team. Following his passion for the entertainment industry, Sam came to USC Marshall to get closer to this Entertainment capital and seek opportunities to pivot to a marketing or strategy role. When not watching films, Sam is a big basketball and K-pop fan. In his free time, he enjoys watching NBA and NCAA highlights and keeping up with the latest K-pop music releases. One of his dreams is to visit every NBA arena in the future, either to watch basketball games or K-pop concerts.
